Tawana Rogers-Reece, LLSW has more than 12 years of experience in child welfare and juvenile justice roles. She joined the staff of StarrVista in March of 2006 and contributed to our care management organization’s success in a variety of roles including probation case manager, senior case manager and utilization manager. Tawana earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 2009.
As the Director, Mrs. Reece has assumed the additional responsibilities of administrative and utilization management supervision and acted as program liaison between StarrVista and Starr Commonwealth and provided oversight of many of the day-to-day aspects of StarrVista case management.
Mrs. Reece has over 15 years of child welfare experience that started with foster care and child protective services. It is these experiences that fosters the philosophy and approach that the family is the agent of change and have the primary role in their child’s care. The foundation of the case management model is to meet the needs of families that will encourage greater youth outcomes and decreased recidivism. It is Tawana’s desire that parents can turn to StarrVista’s Juvenile Justice Program to obtain behavioral help or other community supports for their children and to regain trust in a system that is designed to reform.
